Senior Designer

Position Summary

Reporting to the AVP – Design & Development and Senior Design Manager. The main responsibilities are to support and administer Interior / Interior Architecture developments across the Galaxy Complex. These include but are not limited to: Casino, Restaurant, Private Gaming Halls, F&B outlets, Retail, Pool deck and BOH (Back of House) areas.

Primary Responsibility

• Administer the design and development process from inception to completion, including receiving and relaying briefs from Galaxy’s various business units and being able to produce sketch concepts, working concepts, presentations, design details and detailed drawings.
• Possess knowledge with incorporating and implementing into the design: local codes and regulatory instructions or requirements as stipulated by Macau government authorities. Monitor the design consultants / contractors / external consultants in producing schematic and concept design in accordance with the design brief and to follow up thereafter with site visits and project (design) management if and when needed
• Review design drawings / Technical specifications/ Material samples before and after installation as well as lead and monitor design consultants / contractors by aiding, supporting and developing the design and build works.
• Manage the development and stakeholders sign off and communicate solutions to our QS and Project Management teams for preparation of cost estimates and scope of works respectively.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure all ideas and solutions are met on site and adhere to original design intent.

Requirements

• Higher Diploma / Degree in Architectural or Interior Design Studies Discipline.
• Proficiency in using AUTOCAD, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office and Photoshop
• Experience in working in Architect firms / Developers is essential.
• Ideally from 10 years’ experience in the building / construction industry.
• Experience in hotel / casino project works highly regarded.
