Job Summary

Responsible for providing a professional service to all employees. Build and foster a relationship with our key hotel partners which are a critical component of the role as the Linen Department forms a significant portion of the shared services across the resort.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the operations within the Linen area operate efficiently and professionally by constantly producing quality workmanship and maintaining a harmonious working environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of service excellence to all employees requiring linen requests
  • Attend to Linen service counter when required ensuring a fast efficient and effective service is provided to employees at all times.
  • Ensure linen is sorted, labeled, maintained efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship within the Linen Department and to all fellow employees
  • Maintain computer system recording of daily duties performed.
  • Be attentive at all times of staff complaints relative to the Linen Department operations and report complaints to a Supervisor
  • Ensure the work is kept in a clean and orderly manner at all times
  • Inspect linen items to determine mending, altering or replacement requirements
  • Check for abuse to linen items
  • Maintain the linen chute room
  • Ensure the soiled linen is sorted to the correct standard
  • Soiled linen trolleys re packed correctly and delivered to the collection point on time
  • Clean linen is delivered to the respective floors per the standard
  • Communication log for follow up
  • Constantly work towards developing new and efficient methods to alleviate linen expenditure by assisting departmental requests.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all colleagues.

Requirements

  • Minimum secondary level education
  • Previous experience in clothing industry or commercial laundry
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
