Position Summary

The Manager - Production & Logistics is responsible for overseeing all production and logistics operations within the MICE Operations venues. This role leads the Production & Logistics Team to ensure the seamless execution of events through efficient planning, setup, and breakdown. The Manager will maintain and optimize the performance of heavy lifting equipment, manage inventory, and coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to uphold world-class service standards and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibility

•· Oversee all aspects of production and logistics for assigned events, from planning through to execution, ensuring seamless operations.
• Lead, mentor, and conduct on-the-job training for the Production & Logistics Team (including casual staff) to maintain high performance and service standards.
• Develop and implement operational plans for event setup, breakdown, and logistics flow to maximize efficiency.
• Manage inventory control for operating equipment and guest supplies, ensuring availability and proper maintenance of all assets.
• Coordinate with MICE Operations teams and internal departments (e.g., Facilities, Technical Operations, WHS, Security, Hotels) and external vendors and contractors to guarantee timely service delivery.
• Oversee MICE Operations areas, enforcing the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness across all function rooms, pre-functions and storage spaces.
• Supervise the usage and working condition of all MICE Operations responsible equipment, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring they remain in good order.
• Maintain the heavy lifting equipment inventory, tracking warranties, service records, condition status, and equipment movement.
• Manage visiting contractors logistics companies, ensuring they are briefed on delivery sequences, safety, security, labour laws and adhere to venue protocols.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior to support guest satisfaction and organizational goals.
• Assist in managing the departmental financial targets, monitoring casual costs, equipment maintenance and vendor services to ensure we meet our financial targets.
• Act as a lead point of contact for production & logistics-related issues (emergency or operational) implementing recovery plans to minimise impact to events or venue operations.
• Implement sustainable practices, including waste reduction and energy saving practices.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of Events or Exhibitions industry.
• Good written and oral communication skills in Chinese (written and speaking). English a benefit.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, including exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software with good analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to handle numerous details with appropriate follow up and reporting activities.
• Strong self-motivation and self-initiative; ability to take direction as well as work independently on multiple projects.
• Must demonstrate a friendly and cooperative attitude with vendors, fellow staff and event guests.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-tasking.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• The ability to work long hours including nights and weekends.
