Position Summary
The Manager - System Service Ops leads the operations team to provide comprehensive technical management services, encompassing operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning for GEG IS&T Infrastructure Server, Storage, and Cloud Systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring the availability, resilience, and security of these systems to meet the needs of our stakeholders.
Primary Responsibility
• Oversee daily operations of server, storage, and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Manage system configurations, user access, and security protocols for system integrity and compliance.
• Optimize utilization and performance of server, storage, and cloud services.
• Collaborate with application, governance, and information security teams on disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain and operate a QA environment for internal tests, system upgrades, changes, and UAT.
• Create and maintain SOPs and technical support documentation.
• Provide technical advisory roles for support IS&T projects.
• Ensure compliance with data security and audit requirements.
• Assist in OPEX planning for server and storage infrastructure, including hardware maintenance, software, and cloud subscriptions.
• Supervise cloud infrastructure development and integrate up-to-date cloud technologies into business applications.
• Review and respond to audit and security requirements.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years in System Administrator/Storage support role; 3 years in IT management with a proven track record.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise Server & Storage systems, including Huawei and HP systems, and monitoring/security tools.
• Proficiency in system performance tuning, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Certification, Diploma, or Degree in IT-related field is mandatory.
• Highly desirable certifications in Microsoft, VMware, HP, Huawei, Veeam, and Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management and stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills for creating detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Experience in planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure projects.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects.
