Position Summary
The Mixologist is responsible for the beverage program at The Ritz Carlton Bar & Lounge, delivering a distinctive, world‑class cocktail experience aligned with the venue’s premium positioning and service standards. The role requires advanced cocktail innovation, menu engineering, and operational leadership to support revenue growth, brand recognition, and elevated guest experience. The role is responsible for overseeing the daily bar operations, ensuring high standards of beverage quality, service excellence, and team performance. This role combines advanced mixology expertise with supervisory responsibilities, including team guidance, training, and operational control, to deliver a premium guest experience aligned with brand and business objectives.
Primary Responsibility
Operational Management
Supervise day-to-day bar operations to ensure smooth service flow and adherence to operational standards
Oversee preparation, presentation, and consistency of all beverages in line with established recipes and quality benchmarks
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and local regulatory requirements
Team Leadership & Development
Guide, coach, and supervise bartenders and bar team members to maintain service excellence
Conduct on-the-job training and support skill development in mixology techniques and product knowledge
Foster a positive, performance-driven team culture and ensure alignment with service standards
Menu & Product Innovation
Contribute to the development and enhancement of cocktail menus and beverage offerings
Monitor market trends and introduce innovative concepts to elevate guest experience
Ensure proper execution of new beverage launches and promotions
Inventory & Cost Control
Monitor stock levels, ordering, and inventory management to minimize wastage and control costs
Conduct regular stock checks and support variance analysis
Ensure efficient utilization of bar resources and maintain proper storage procedures
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Engage with guests where appropriate to enhance personalized service and premium experience
Handle guest feedback and service recovery in a professional and timely manner
Ensure consistency in service delivery across all shifts
Coordination & Compliance
Liaise with F&B management, procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and DSAL labor framework requirements
Support documentation and reporting related to bar performance and operations
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in bar operations or mixology, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
Relevant certifications in mixology, bartending, or hospitality management preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and beverage trends
Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team
Strong operational and organizational skills with attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset
Other Requirements
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
Good understanding of hygiene, safety, and compliance standards
Proficiency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Cantonese or Mandarin) is an advantage
