Project Manager - Design Support

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the AVP – Design, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating Interior Design teams on FF&E aspects and supporting consultants, preparing documents and reports, attending meetings, and documenting and following up on design directions to ensure compliance with the Owner’s design requirements. This position also requires supporting the existing FF&E team on both the aesthetic and technical aspects of FF&E, including participating in factory visits to ensure design quality, compliance, and production standards.
Primary Responsibility
● Monitor and supervise Interior Design consultants in developing Design efforts in aspect of FF&E and Art & Curation; including coordination, monitoring schedules and costs in an effort to achieve owner's design requirements with designated budgets and program
● Monitor and supervise the Interior Design consultant(s) in completing tasks on schedule
● Review and comment on consultant's submissions including drawings, specifications, design reports, technical reports, programs, schedules and budgets
● Support the value engineering of consultants' design and recommend cost effective sources, alternative suppliers, and design solutions without compromising the design intent
● Establish design needs and planning criteria
● Provide design support for and communicate closely with the consultant team on new/modified FF&E designs for the projects, as required
● Work closely with consulting teams in resolving key design issues that may affect the individual and or overall Design or impair the progress of work
● Support the in-house team in the preparation of tender packages
● Provide leadership to in-house and consultant teams throughout the design process.
● Participate in factory visits to review workmanship, production progress, aesthetic quality, technical compliance, and to ensure all FF&E items meet project specifications and Owner standards.
Requirements
● Degree holder in Architectural/ Interior design/ Fine arts
● Minimum 10 years' experience in Architectural and/or Interior design; experience shall be in architectural or interiors firms, or within the design management office of a property developer. Minimum of 5 years experience in hospitality and/or gaming interior projects required
● Strong experience of FF&E experience across hospitality and gaming interior project is essential
● Experience in managing and providing leadership to project staff on design. Experience in Macau is a plus
● Strong background and experience in Interior Design and Design management. Design experience in architectural design is a plus.
● Familiar with the specification of building materials, installation details and statuary building and fire codes.
● Experience in working as Owner Representative in an Integrated Resort Development is a major advantage
● Capable of preparing sketches, perspectives and details; able to use AutoCAD. Knowledge in other drawing programs is a plus
● The candidate must be fluent in Cantonese and English. (Proficiency in Mandarin, is an advantage)
