Position Summary

The Senior Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing data-centric solutions that support business growth, inform strategic decisions, and drive operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of business requirements and processes, and involves developing robust data solutions and reporting frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:

- Designing and coding ETL/ELT pipelines
- Architecting and optimizing databases and data models
- Developing and maintaining business intelligence (BI) dashboards and reporting tools
- Applying predictive analytics and machine learning techniques to generate actionable insights
- Leading the development of BI solutions to support cross-functional teams

Reporting to the AVP of FP&A, this individual will serve as the subject matter expert for the company’s business data. They will play a critical role in the implementation of the enterprise-wide data platform, setting departmental standards, and driving best practices in data modeling, governance, and analytics.

Primary Responsibility

• Design and develop scalable and efficient data repositories that integrate and ingest sizeable, structured, and unstructured data from various sources.
• Optimize queries, data models, and ETL processes to improve system performance and ensure efficient data retrieval. Responsible for data cleansing, mapping, transformation, logging, and exception handling processes.
• Perform complex data analysis, identify insights, utilize data science techniques to support business growth initiatives.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and data solutions that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Support Company AI/machine learning strategies, provide technical and business consultation to deploy tools tomaximize business opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.

Management/Leadership
• Manages, develops and leads an adaptive, innovative and future-looking analytics team that includes agile and actionable business intelligence operations, and advanced analytics team. 
• Prepares and analyzes department/unit plans based on organizational needs, readiness and benefit.
• Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.
• Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance, and maintaining open communications.
• Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing performance & development plans.
• Partners with business leaders to proactively determine how data and insights can better inform and support their goals.
• Establishes, communicates, and implements departmental plans, objectives, and strategies.
• Maintains an active awareness of Galaxy's business environments, corporate culture, and structure to support key decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in technology, analytics, business management
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA, with hands-on experience in developing analytical solutions.
• Strong experience in data analytics and visualization using Microsoft Power BI or Tableau, including dashboard design, DAX, Power Query, and enterprise reporting.
• Experience with database technologies such as ClickHouse, NoSQL, SQL Server, Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, etc.
• Experience with schema design, data modeling, ETL, handling large data sets, and working with structured, unstructured, and geographical datasets.
• Experience with project management with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver on time and within scope. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior management, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
