Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) - Project lead, this position requires an experienced Lighting Design Project Manager with extensive successful experience gained on lighting in hospitality, retail and gaming. The role has to oversee the planning, design, and implementation of lighting and relevant systems for GEG integrated resort properties to meet the highest standard of quality. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, construction teams and third-party development partners over the project. Therefore, a minimum of 10 years of experience in the lighting industry in well-known hospitality studios, will bring a deep understanding of lighting design principles, project management best practices, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
 

Primary Responsibility

•    Assisting and supporting the AVP in managing the overall quality, consultants, design, technical support
•    Managing, monitoring and supervising the lighting consultant and design process from concept to completion, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Assisting in value engineering of lighting consultant’s design and recommend cost effective sources, alternative suppliers, and design solutions without compromising the design intent
•    Coordinating with all parties, including architects, engineers, and design specialists, to ensure seamless integration of lighting systems with overall project goals. Reviewing and commenting on lighting consultant's submissions including drawings, specifications, design reports, technical reports, programs, schedules and budgets according to the expected recognized requirement
•    Developing and maintaining relationships with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective collaboration and issue resolution 
•    Attending internal and external meetings, conducting site & factory visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed (value engineering)
•    Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards
•    Collaborating with the AVP to develop and implement project strategies, goals, and objectives
•    Providing technical expertise and guidance to all relevant parties in collaboration with MEP team on lighting design and implementation best practices
•    Developing and maintaining project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and project close-out reports
•    Prepare and support the in-house team in the preparation of tender packages

Requirements

•    Minimum 12 years of experience in lighting design, preferably with well-known reginal lighting design consultant. Candidates with min. 12 years or above may be considered for the SPM role. Candidates with experience working as Owner's representative (client side) is an advantage. Experience in facade & landscape, casinos, retail, F&B, hotels and entertainment attractions would be an advantage.
•    Minimum Bachelor's degree holder in a relevant field, such as architecture, engineering, or interior design
•    Strong background and experience in Design and Design management. Design experience in gaming and/or retail, F&B and hospitality is a plus.
•    Professional certification in lighting design or a related field (e.g. LC, LEED AP)
•    Proven track record of delivering high-quality lighting design projects on time and within budget
•    Strong technical knowledge of lighting systems, including design principles, materials, and technologies
•    Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software applications (Photoshop, Dialux/Relux to generate Lux level calculations & reports is essential)
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
•    Responsible, self-motivated and able to work under pressure is a must      
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple parties and priorities
•    Fluency in English, with Cantonese or Mandarin language skills is a must
